# Malaria Prevention During the Rainy Season

The rainy season brings increased malaria risk to Bertoua and the East Region of Cameroon. Here is what every family should know to stay protected.

## Key Prevention Measures

### 1. Use Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets (ITNs)
Sleep under a treated net every night, including children and pregnant women.

### 2. Indoor Residual Spraying
Allow health workers to spray your home during approved campaigns.

### 3. Eliminate Breeding Sites
- Remove stagnant water near your home
- Cover water storage containers
- Clean gutters regularly

### 4. Prophylaxis for High-Risk Groups
Pregnant women should take intermittent preventive treatment (IPTp). Consult our clinic for the appropriate medication.

### 5. Seek Early Treatment
If fever develops, visit Hope Clinic Koumé immediately for a rapid diagnostic test (RDT). Early treatment saves lives.
